In an effort to provide a deeper level of support for faceoff men during the recruiting process, FOAdvantage will be offering a monthly subscription that will entail biweekly check-ins and help in connecting with college coaches. This process is twofold, it allows FOAdvantage Director Corey Bulken to get to know each player on a more personal level which can help aid in the ability to paint a complete picture of a prospective student-athlete for college coaches and assist families with the questions that arise throughout the recruiting cycle.

Faceoff Academy Director of Recruiting
Corey Bulken finished his fourth season as a member of Hartford’s men’s lacrosse coaching staff in 2021. Joining the staff as the top assistant in August 2017, he served as the Hawks’ recruiting coordinator, offensive coordinator and faceoff coach.
In Bulken’s second season with the Hawks in 2019, Hartford averaged 11.3 goals per game, marking the program’s highest offensive output since 2012, when it put up 12.2 per outing. In addition, two of the Hawks’ attackmen earned America East All-Conference distinction under Bulken in 2019. In four seasons the Hawks have come in at 55% at the face off X under his direction.
Prior to Hartford, Bulken was an assistant coach at Ohio State, where he helped pilot the Buckeyes to the championship game of the 2017 NCAA Tournament. Under his guidance, the Buckeyes finished the year ranked No. 4 in the nation in faceoff winning percentage with a .621 clip and effort led by All American winner Jake Withers. OSU finished in the top 5 of the NCAA in FO win percentage; a program best.
Bulken landed at Ohio State by way of Virginia. Spending two years on the staff as a volunteer assistant coach, he worked specifically with the faceoff specialists. During the 2016 campaign — his second season with the program — the Cavaliers combined to rank No. 15 in the nation in winning percentage at the X.
Bulken began his coaching career at Washington College, located in Chestertown, Md. He helped lead the Shoremen to back-to-back NCAA Division II Tournament appearances while mentoring a faceoff specialist to All-America honors.
As a player, Bulken was a two-time United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American as a faceoff specialist at Le Moyne. Named Second Team All-America as a junior, he earned a spot on the organization's First Team as a senior after leading all of NCAA Division II with a .692 winning percentage inside of the circle. Bulken was also named the USILA Division II Specialty Player of the Year that season. Bulken graduated in the programs top 5 all time in faceoff wins, winning percentage and groundballs at LeMoyne.
In addition to his All-America accolades, Bulken led the Dolphins to three-consecutive NCAA Division II Tournament title game appearances during his tenure. After his collegiate career, Bulken took his talents to the professional rankings, playing for both Charlotte and New York in the Major League Lacrosse (MLL).
A native of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Bulken earned a bachelor's degree in communication with a concentration in public relations and a minor in English from Le Moyne in 2011. He spent time as an intern in Le Moyne's sports information office and was also accepted to the NCAA Career in Sports Forum during his college career
